About Us

At Ywam Derby we are passionate about God's Heart for cities and for the people who live in them. We know God loves us and has chosen us to show his love to others, to be part of the answer to the prayer Jesus taught us, "Let your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven." We are 'called' to co-labour with him in this incredible task, a huge privilege and exciting faith adventure.

What we do

YWAM Derby is situated within a multicultural community, a short walk to the city centre. We are called to urban mission, an 'urban plant' that will be multiplied into the cities of UK & Europe. We partner with local church & pioneer new ministries, we train and equip those called to urban work and we plant new teams. We do all this to carry God's heart and share his love:

• By Presence; bringing God's mercy in practical ways to meet felt needs
• By Proclamation; through word and acts of kindness
• By Prayer; listening to God and co-labouring with him to conceive birth and nurture his Kingdom purposes.

God's word spoken to Ywam Derby

When God first called us to Derby he spoke to us:

"Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Also seek the peace and prosperity of the city. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers you too will prosper."
Jeremiah 4-7

A mandate loud and clear, to live under the blessing of God we are not only to live in this city, but we are to pray, be a Godly influence and serve practically for its prosperity.
